Concluding Langkawi's Trip

This is gonna be the final post for my Langkawi's trip in October. To continue from where we stop from the previous post, click here. After our fun time in Pantai Chenang, we ventured into our next destination, the iconic landmark in Langkawi, the Eagle Square.

The Eagle Square is a sprawling
19-acre landmark
located to the front left of the
new Jetty Mall Complex in Kuah.
The imposing 12-meter tall statue of the brown eagle
can be clearly seen from the air or from the sea.
The eagle statue sits high at the centre
of a massive star-shaped
(if seen from the air) concrete platform
that juts out to the sea.
The square comprises the eagle statue,
a high-roofed pavilion where events are held
and kiosks selling anything
from multiple local delicacies to souvenirs.
It was raining by the time
we reached there later in the afternoon.
I suppose the scenic sea view beside the Kuah Jetty
would be magnificent,
however drizzling rain deters us
from taking good shots ...

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped by a Thai Restaurant for dinner. The food served there were very much satisfactory, with large portion at reasonable price. Most importantly, they taste superbly delicious!

Fried Chicken wrapped in Pandan Leaves
The chicken was crispy,
the aromatic Pandan smell
mixed well and fully absorbed
into the chicken after
deep-fried ...

Sweet and Sour Prawns

The main dish - Seafood Tom Yam Soup
Its spiciness and sourness was marvelous!
The soup itself will be another excuses
for you to order another bowl of rice

Thai Fried Cuttlefish

The next morning, it was still
raining cats and dogs outside.
Didn't manage to go elsewhere,
besides staying indoor nearby the
hotel's compound areas.
We did another last minutes
shopping spree before we
drove to the airport.
Why not?
The chocolates and liquors
are all duty-exempted.
Grab the chances to buy more,
and more and more!!

"Calling passengers for MH 1447,
please proceed to Gate 2
for departure ..."
