Island Hopping Part1

Still remember the Langkawi's Cable Cars
that I mentioned earlier?
Don't remember?
Located at the northern part of Langkawi Island,
this cable cars link comprises of 2.2km
all the way up to the peak of Mount Mat Cincang.
It was raining cats and dogs when we arrived there,
so we didn't take the ride up.
Shot this picture, and we went off in disappointment ...

Pantai Pasir Hitam ...
As the name means ‘Black Sand’,
this is an unusual beach with a strange colouration.
The sand is mixed in white and black shades,
giving the illusion of pollution.
On the contrary, the rich tin and mineral deposits (iron ore)
in the area wash up on the shore constantly,
creating that false notion.
The beach's continental slope is so gentle
that on a low tide you can actually
walk across to the neighboring island.
Its unique black sand is attributed to
the result of the mineral content,
which might have come either
from the seabed or the earth's crust.
However, this explanation is not a concrete one,
creating an air of mystery that enshrouds
the black sand to this day.
Nevertheless, it is this mystery that makes a
visit to the beach even more exciting.

Rented a boat for our Island Hopping adventure
at Pantai Tanjung Rhu
After a series of bargaining with the tauke,
we managed to get a discounted price of
RM25 per person for 3 hours boat ride to 5 places of interest.
Woo hoo, what an awesome bargain!
What else would you ask for?
It is already more than worth the money we had paid!
Haha :)
Jump on the boat, and here we go ...

A face expression for sea-sick?
Have no ideas what Wen Jie was doing at that moment.
Sea-sick?
Most probably ...
Lolz :)

Setting my dSLr ...
Put to Manual mode,
boost the ISO 100,
adjust shuttle speed ...
All ready for photo-shooting.
Me in action!

It was my first experience with boat-riding on the sea.
Before this, my only boat riding's experience was
during my trip to cross the Sarawak River from Waterfront Kuching.
Not really a boat ride, but more to a kayuh-ing sampan!
Lolz :)
Indeed, I was very amused and excited
when the boat sailed splendidly across
the sea, cutting the wave's ripple
one by one.
Great enjoyment, pleasant experience,
total satisfaction!
Very relaxing, that all the hassles
and hectics life in city will be
left behind time ...

Have you seen what so special of this picture?
Look carefully to the red coloured circle?
It is actually an island which resembles
a shape of your N I K E shoes!
First stop - Pulau Kasut
I was curious, how do this trees grow so neatly
and well-arranged to make up the shape of a shoe?
Could be the monkeys on the island trim the trees regularly?
Lolz :)

The Pirates of Langkawi on mission ...
I don't think they are pirates,
maybe they are just fishermen
who cover their face with black mask
Well, I couldn't stop thinking they might be pirates,
since we were entering the sea border
between Malaysia and Thailand.

Beautiful wooden house on water!
We have seen alot of such houses in pictures,
but how often do we get to see
such a scenic view in the city?
Another piece of long-forgotten culture ...
Seriously a good place to consider
to spend with your loved one after retirement
in future

2nd stop - Fish Farm
There are many species of aquatics marine lifes
which are breed commercially here, for instance,
the clown fish, sting ray, horse-shoe crabs,
osyters, prawns, shells, ikan tilapia and many more.
This place is not only genarating incomes through aquaculture,
but as well through tourism activity.

Ewin ...
