Exploring Magnificent Langkawi Island

For those who have guessed correctly where I had been during the Raya's break, here's a token of congratulation to you all, but for those who have guessed wrongly, it is no harm trying as well. Haha ;) A picture worth a thousand words. So, let's the pictures do the talking ...

Sunny Sky, Cloudy Sky and The Horizon
Boarded the first flight from KLIA to Langkawi Island
at 830am by using MH1430
Let's the adventure begins ...

Upon arrival at Langkawi Int' Airport ...
My travel buddies,
(L-R) Wen Jie, Nick and Ewin
First time using a staircase
to board out from the aircraft
I thought Langkawi Int' Airport
should have used the aerobridge instead ...
Haha :)
a new experience to walk
along the airport runway ...

Rented a car - Proton Wira,
and this was what we got when we checked the tire pressure.
Went to Petronas Gas Station,
fortunately, we were able to inflate
the tire without losing the pressure.
Overall, we got a real cheap bargain for this car,
RM90 for 3days!

Our first stop,
a jetty beside the Petronas Gas Station,
if I am mistaken, this place is called
Jetty Petronas Quay Bay by the locals.

Plenty of privately-owned boats were parked
in the jetty.

Cloudy, gloomy day at the jetty.

Cannon
Spotted this cannon beside the jetty
It was placed facing the sea,
I wonder was it used during the long-forgtten Malays empire
to fight against the foreigners?
Truely a mix of civilization and culture
of ancient and modern days ...

Street performance by
Malaysian No 1 Yoyo Chammpion
Presenting ...
~ clap clap ~
Ewin from KL in Langkawi
This trick is known as 'In the Sky',
by the way,
can you see the invisible string?
Lolz :)
Wish him all the best for
Asia Pacific YoYo Championship 2008!

One of the largest cement factories in Malaysia
Majority of the cements we have
in the city roll out from this factory in Langkawi.
Actually, we didn't plan to come here,
but since we were lost on our way to Langkawi Cable Car,
we came cross to the factory.

However, by the time we reached the Langkawi Cable Car Park, the rain started to pour down ferociously. Furthermore, according to weather forecast, there will be thick cloud at the peak of Mount Mat Cincang, which is the final destination of the cable car, covering at the total length of 2.2km. The chances of enjoying the wondrous mountain view were low. On the mountain as well, at the side of it, there is a steel bridge suspended across Mount Mat Cincang and a neighboring mountain. Walking across this bridge is a fantastic experience and offers a different viewpoint of the island and sea towards the north. Unfortunately, the suspension bridge was closed to visitors due to renovation. Sigh. Really not our day! Never mind, we shall return on another day ...

Coming up tomorrow later ...
Langkawi's Islands Hopping Boat trip.

Stay tune,
cHeErS.
