Round up of Langkawi Day1

By the time we finished our island hopping boat ride, it was already nearly to 1500 hours. Woah ... Fun time just passed in split seconds. We didn't realize the whole boat ride adventure actually took us about two and a half hours; our stomachs were grumbling soundly, asking to be feed, but eventually this feeling was pushed aside as we need to rush to our hotel for check-in at 1500 hours. Yet, the journey from the location of our island hopping adventure to the hotel wasn't as near as it seemed to be. We drove all the way down to the southern part of the island in the midst of heavy downpour.

Along the way, we grabbed the opportunity to stop by the roadside to capture some scenic views. It is very rare to see such a scenic spot, especially in the high-rise buildings of Kuala Lumpur city. Langkawi, as part of Kedah Darul Aman, is well known as the ' rice-bowl ' for our country. They even called Kedah state; ' Negeri Jelapang Padi ' ... Bingo, you're right! It is the paddy fields ...

Seindah, sejauh, mata memandang ...
I like this picture personally as I managed
to capture the trails along the paddy fields.
The trails may look dry, narrow and windy,
but slowly and surely,
it is still a route that will take
one to its final destination.
You may opt for short-cut,
crossing straight along the paddy fields,
but once you look back,
you may find scars on yourself as well as on the paddy.
This reminds me to a poem by
Robert Frost - The Road Not Taken

Paddy fields ...
It is so greeeeennn ...
Paddy is strong plant, isn't them?
It is such a tight competition to nurture
all these paddy.
Lots of paddy were seeded to the ground,
but not all of them will bear fruits.
The strong will survive,
the weak will be exiled.

The place where we saty - Arwana Porto Malai
This hotel in located beside a port,
and is 10 minutes drive to
its nearest beach, Pantai Chenang.
Their staff are dedicated, polite and
friendly in helping us around,
thus ensuring everyone of us
has a pleasant experience in Arwana ...

Since we had skipped our lunch,
we decided to go for an early dinner instead.
We checked-into the hotel,
unpacked ourselves,
took a refreshing bath
before we headed to a
Chinese restaurant in
Kuah Town for our meals.

While waiting for our food, my friend,
Wen Jie tried his creativity with this artwork ...
Ok, you know what is that?
Ssshhhh ...
Don't say it out!
Lolz :)

Here's the food arrived!

Fried Tofu with Black Mushroom

Plain Fried Siu Pak Choy

Mussels cooked in "Kam Heong" style

Butter Cheese Crabs
The waitress told us,
" 100 grams for RM 6.00"
Sounds reasonable?
To our surprise, this plate of dish
costed us RM 66 in total.
Just a single plate of crabs.
Oh My God!!
We were like :o when
we saw the figures on the bills
Stunned and astonished,
we left the shop
in dismay ...
Gosh!!

Our room, twin queen-sized bed
Not bad, isn't it?
We paid RM 450 for our
3 days accommodation
here in Arwana Hotel.

A couples of beers before heading
to bed

Baby is drowsing, cozy and fair
Mother sits near,
in her rocking chair
Forward and back,
the cradle she swings
And though baby sleeps,
he hears what she sings ...

He slept soundly,
guess all of us were superly
tired after having a full day
of fun and entertainment ...

Yup, it's time to sleep

Good night!
KeithK :)
