Our very first F27

Finally ... This Fokker-27 has finally arrived at the mouth of my college this morning after months of anticipation. A few months back, my college bought this Fokker-27 aircraft from Toulouse, France for the sake of our training and practical. Hard to believe that this tiny little aircraft actually flew more than 6000 miles all the way back from France through oceans and lands. Wow, can't wait to work on the aircraft soon... Lolz :)

Just a brief summary about this aircraft; It is a turbo-prop aircraft with capacity of 5o+ passengers depending on configuration. It is powered by two Rolls Royce Dart Mk.532-7 turboprop Engine. Fokker-27 is a very antique aircraft with its maiden flight first recorded in 1955. However, it is currently still operating in other countries, such as US, Australia and Thailand. Guess what, the common Fokker-50 is actually inheriting the airframes from F27, of course with great improvement in aircraft's systems and passenger comfort.

Good thing is we will get to learn all the basic systems in modern aircraft, particularly the electrical, navigation, communication, fuel and flight control systems. I have a quite peculiar feeling when I first saw this F27; it is so cute as like a toy plane when it is parked side by side with a larger aircraft, even beside a narrowed body, B737. Imagine if you compare a F27 with A380, it would be like a grandfather taking his baby grandson for a walk. Haha :)

Looking forward to work on this aircraft soon. With my training programme in college is about one more year to go before proceeding with OJT, I can sense there will be a lot of things that I need to learn and master in this short period of time. It is definitely going to be a tough one, but it is not impossible to achieve!!

All the best Keith,
ChEeRs :)
