China's Priceless Treasures

Beijing is well known for its fresh water Pearl ...
Most of the time, pearl of a size of few millimeters in diameter
can be harvested from a mature oyster of age 3-4yrs.
See the size of this blueish pearl,
can you guess how long it takes for an oyster to form to such a size?

Pink Fresh Water Pearl Necklace
Size: 9.0 - 10.0 mm
Quality: AAA
Length: 10" - 17"
Price: Approximately RMB 4000 (-.-)

Nice to see,
Nice to hold,
if you break it,
It is considered sold!!

This necklace caught my attention when I visited PearlSKY House in Beijing Capital

Pandas in the glass ... These are actually painting INSIDE of a glass!
OMG, is there anything Chinese can't do?
Panda is also one of China's national treasures.
Panda can only be found in China and
its population has declined sharply over the years.

(Hmmm, how about the WWF logo? lolz ... )

A giant jade craved Chinese cabbage in one of the popular Jade Shop in Beijing.
Do you know why?
Chinese believe cabbage symbolizes wealth and prosperity cause "Fatt Chai" ...
Very the "Ong" ha ... Hehe :)
Guess how much it cost you to buy this "cabbage"?
You will need RMB 18000 on the table!!
Remind your mum to buy this cabbage every time
she goes to market for shopping ... Haha!

Now, what is this weird looking balls in the pot?
Guess ... 1,2,3 ... Ok, time's up.
This is actually Pu Er Tea leaves.
This is my first time I saw tea leaves in round shape.
Well, Pu Er Tea had been drank by Emperor Qian Long during the Qing Dynasty and
it was believed to aid in digestion, reduce cholesterol and lipid level
as well as counteract the bad effect of heavy alcohol consumptions.
Pu Er Tea's price increase as its age gets older.
The longer you keep, the higher price you can sell them ...
So, start buying Pu Er Tea now ...
Great investment!

Two pretty ladies standing in between the ancient Pu-Er Tea leaves on display.
This artifact is said to be used during the Qing Dynasty by the Imperial.
Wow ... Amazing ...
That's long time ago.

We were shown the correct methods to brew Chinese Tea
by a beautiful and lovely Yunnan lady
in HangZhou Dr Tea House in Beijing Cultural Village.
Water temperature should not exceed 85 degree Celsius
when brewing the tea.
Above: White Tea ready to be served

This is raw White Tea leaves which my mum bought for RMB 160.
White Tea has anti-viral and anti-bacterial qualities as compares to Green Tea.
See, Tea is better that Coffee, right

More from me on China's Great Wall and Summer Palace ...
