A long Examination weeks came to a break after last paper, IELTS Speaking Test completed on Saturday. I have long abandoned The Journals, and, this will be a great time to catch up and update on what's on ups and downs. Plenty of things to say; to begin off, I will post an event that I had attended at the start of month of August ...

The forum was co-jointly organized by my college,
Malaysia Airlines Engineering Training Centre (METC)
and Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA)
in Holiday Inn, Glenmarie.

Nicely arranged, peaceful tungsten lighting
with well decorated interior design ...

waiting eagerly for the event to start ...
It will begin as soon as the VIP, the DGCA arrived ...


The forum started off at 0900 hours
with a welcoming note from the
Managing Director
of Dilog Training and Services (DTS),
Brig. General Dato' Anim Harun RMAF (Retired)


0910 hour,
the Hon. Dato' Azharuddin Abdul Rahman,
the Director General of DCA (DGCA) giving
his keynote speech ...
He is the most powerful man in Malaysia aviation industry
His main responsibility is to ensure all the
aviation activities in Malaysia
are carried out in accordance with the
International Standards and Regulations
as per ICAO


0920 hour,
The Executive Director of DTS,
the person in charge of METC,
Mr Amrul Zeflin Anim gave his speech
on the outline of the forum ...
Basically, Mr Amrul reviewed the whole
focus and scope of the forum for the day ...

a significant of our identity,
our responsibility and of course,

METC Trainees ...


Our first speaker of the day,
Dr. Manjit Singh,
the Deputy Director
of Malaysia Aviation Academy (MAvA)
He is a representative from
Air Traffic Controller (ATC) Department.
Dr. Manjit showed us how the
proficiency and testing for English Language
is carried out for all the ATC officers


Then, it was Col. Mohd Amin Modh Razi,
a retired officer from RMAF,
who has vast experience in piloting helicopter Nuris
He is the Director of Quality Assurance and Safety,
representing the Pilot's
He shared with us his experience in
conducting Pilot English Testing ...


1030 hour Coffee and Tea Break
at the Foyer area ...
They were chatting around while enjoying
light meals prepared by the
hotel's staffs
Donuts, Yam Cake and Curry Chicken ...

After the break, the forum continued with
speeches from the
Deputy Director of Airworthiness DCA Malaysia,
Mr Mohamed Salehuddin Anwar.
He shared with us the importance
of English Language Competency in
Aviation Industry.
All our licensing, especially in
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
is under this man's supervision ...


The final speakers, Miss Yang Azura Othman,
the Head of English Department in METC
and Miss Martini Abdul Aziz,
the Chief Examiner of METC
Both of them delivered convincingly
with interesting points
on the Introduction of English Language Proficiency
in Stages of Training and Its Results ...


The METC Team,

All smiles after the end of presentation.
All the hard works and efforts had finally
paid off with a big round of applause
from the audiences ...

The Manager of Human Resource from MAS,
was trying on METC's very own
quizzes with video recordings
set up during the forum ...
The quizzes, mainly emphasize on 3 parts,
the Engineering, Pilots
and Air Traffic Controller domains
Through the quizzes, you will be able
to gauge your own English level skills on
Reading and Listening ...


Mr Alan Lim,
the Manager of Quality Assurance and Safety
from Malaysia Airlines.
He is a friendly and easy-going person,
but, when it comes to safety and correct procedures,
he is one of the most strict QA Officer.
I had a long chat with him;
he is a nice guy after all ...
Mr Alan was listening to the audio records
before attempting the quizzes

Finally, your truthfully,
was concentrating during the forum ...
