The 1Malaysia concept is very much well known and appreciated by all layers of society in Malaysia. In conjunction with the 52nd Malaysia's Anniversary, Proton has came out creative by launching a series of commercial ads videos; touching on major issues in the country, and most importantly, it delivers significant messages to all countrymen in a very vivid way. Here is one of the them, Hangus, starred by Afdlin Shauki, Datuk David Arumugam from Alleycats and Ho Yuhang. Three of this gentlemen represent three main races in Malaysia, the Malay, India and Chinese who live peacefully and harmoniously under the banner of Jalur Gemilang. The intergration of multi races is of vital asset to preserve this warm-catching and peaceful days in Malaysia. Thumb up for these 3 men!

Hey Keith,
Hmm.., on the topic of 1Malaysia, we Malaysians should turn towards problem-solving and innovation, not finger-pointing and the blame game. The concept of 1Malaysia actually has a good message, intrinsically, though some pessimistic malaysians dismiss it as another rhetorical catchphrase. But the idea of mutual acceptance amongst different races, religions, and creeds is a noble one. Racial tensions have risen lately. Sad. I just hope that the rakyat appreciates this idea and lives it out.
Yup, the proton advertisement is a good one. Just that I still miss Yasmin Ahmad's productions.. those touching commercials. Not to say that the rest aren't good but my heart aches for another Yasmin Ahmad commercial, or film. Notice how she ALWAYS talks about everyday relationships through the lens of a multiracial worldview???
Gosh, I miss it..
Hi KJ,
It is great to welcome you back to The Journals. Been quite some time I did not hear any news from you. How are you doing lately? How's days in college? First of all, sorry for taking such a long time to reply your comment. My Streamyx was down for the last two weeks, it only comes online this afternoon, hopefully it will stay on, otherwise, I will need to ring them up. Yeap, I definitely miss Yasmin Ahmad's workpiece. Honestly, I have never bothered to know her until she was no longer with us. I personally like her ads on Tan Hong Ming's love story. Isn't that a very innocent and sincere words from a child? Hope to hear from you again, KJ ...
Cheers,
KeithK :)
