Hari Raya Open House

Last Friday, on the 31st of October 2008, there was a " Hari Raya Open House" gathering in my college. Months of preparation and endless efforts were finally put to test on the actual day. Canopy tents were set up, temporary stage was beautifully-decorated, performers had been practising hard, and then the invitation to fellow guests were getting positive responses. Mari mari makan, jangan malu!
The menu comprises of
nasi impit, nasi minyak,
ayam masak tomato,
penang laksa, satay,
sayur campur, kuih-muih,
and kari ayam masak lemak.
Satay was among the favourites,
as I didn't manage to take one,
not even a stick of it.
Everyone was rushing to grab the satay
as if they were hot cakes
fresh from oven.
