Corner Talk: It's Friday, tomorrow will be my cousin's wedding. Special congratulations to Seng Chew and Chien Ee. May you live happily ever after. Few more days again before I return to Subang to continue my duty as a trainee, doing the same old thing - attend classes and doing assignments, again! Chinese New Year is just around the corner, but everything seems to be quiet and dull this year, unlike previously where CNY Songs can be heard everywhere, bing and bang here and there. Economy downturn and high inflation rates could have forced the festive season to be celebrated moderately by the Chinese ...

Went out with my former schoolmates few days ago for a yam cha session at After Three Cafe in Jalan Padungan, Kuching. Located near to Padungan Fire Station and beside to RHB Bank, After Three Cafe is a place where all young used to hang out at night, except for one casualty, there are lack of parking spaces around this area. All in all, it has not much different with other yam cha outlets in KL, such as Station One and Gasoline. The food and drinks they serve, to their interior design; they are quite similar. Pricings are still reasonable and affordable to all. Lolz :)

merely 3 days.

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009

2008 will come to an end in just a few more hours, and the world will welcome the kick off of year 2009 with open arms. As the curtain rises for year 2009, I am sure everyone of you will have their own resolutions and targets to achieve in the year to come. Be it a big or a small dream, let's us pull up our socks together, and gear up for the best efforts. Yesterday was history, today is beginning and tomorrow will be future! Let's look back what I had gone through this year thus far ...

This year, training courses for module 1,2,3, 4 and 8 were completed. The balance of another 7 modules are to be scheduled into 2009 programme. The first batch of TJT from my college will be graduating and proceed to Complex A for their OJT. The journey for my TAME Batch 06 still far away from graduation, plenty of modules to go, practicals yet to be done, hopefully, year 2009 will be a plain-sailing year with God's blessing be with us ...

Four months of OJT (April to August) in Complex A was indeed a fruitful experience with life aircrafts. Meet various people from various backgrounds, but, a friend in particular that I appreciate the most would be, him; VirtualMystic. He is a person who draws pictures of my career's development, someone who I can look upon to as a mentor, someone who gives me encouragements and motivation to strive and work harder for my future. Thanks to VirtualMystic, you're cool!!

My 21st birthday was celebrated with a fine-dining in FullHouse Restaurant. My colleagues planned for a different surprise this year, no cake for me, instead, they used Big Apple's donuts with my name, KEITH printed on it as my birthday's donuts. Special? Wow ... I was kinda shocked and fascinated with it ... Thanks buddies!!

Langkawi's trip was my first outing with fellow colleagues during the October Raya's break. Initially it was unplanned, and we just followed the flow, but eventually, everything seems to be a wonderful vacation as everyone was happy and enjoy well by the end of the day. Pictures were amazing, blue sky were plenty, the only regret would be no sunrise and sunset pictures since it was drizzling for the three days we were in Langkawi. Chocolates and liquors were abundant, and it would be a waste if you didn't grab a little here and there ...

Last year, 2007 Christmas, I was climbing the Great Wall of China in Beijing, however, this year, my Christmas was a dull one, what to say, I spent most of time, lying on my bed, gritting in pains due to food poisoning. I had severe diarrhea and headache. What the?! Sigh ... Lonely Christmas! Silent Night! While many people may be having BBQ Turkey and Red Wine for Christmas' dinner, I had to take White Porridge for my dinner. I had no appetite for any food, because, I will throw up any food I took in. Seriously a torture that I could no longer ask for more!

I took up a new hobby - photography; my first step was to get a Sony DSLR Alpha 200. equipped with a sole kit lense, SAL 1870mm, I captured pictures of the best moments - the beauty of God's creation, people who I met and random shots of various time frame and settings. My next item? A Flash Gun maybe? Still in the progress of funding. Haha :)

My biggest resolution for this year is; To complete my Category B2 training programme and pass out with flying colors. There may be plenty of hurdles and obstacles, but, I believe with the strength and faiths from God, I will be able to overcome it, one by one. No matter how ferocious the winds may blow, or how thorny the road will be, I will stand firm on my feet ...

As 2009 kicks offs, I pray the world would be a better living home,
particularly to end all the bloody war,
less pollution and no natural disasters.
Let 2009 be a year where you all surrounded by
angels of happiness,
angels of wealth and angels of healthy .

Jungle of Hope

Corner Talk: Woke up in the morning, 0400 hours to catch ManUtd's game with Middlebrough, live telecast from Old Trafford. ManUtd played loose football, not a good show from the lads, it was rather a disappointment rather than something to cheer for. It was a deadlock not until Dmitar Berbatov fired United upfront in the second half with a 1-0 victory, thus keeping in pace with EPL's leader, Liverpool who sit comfortably at the peak after dumping Newscastle United 5 goals to 1 in the earlier game. Although an one goal victory for ManUtd doesn't portray the style of the champion, Alex Ferguson must be more than welcome and grateful to pick up 3 full points from Gareth Southgate's Boro team ...

Few weeks back, I went to a Sony Photography Outing in Janda Baik, Pahang. I believe this place will sound familiar to you, recall, the novel that you read for your Secondary 5 Literature component, The Jungle of Hope? Located not too far away from Genting Hinghlands, Janda Baik is approximately 1 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. The trip was fun, free goodies, free transport, free lunch, free photograpghy lesson, and in short, everything is FREE by SONY. Wooo ... What a miss if you don't join it!! Since it was a half day trip, from 0800 - 1500 hours, we will only stop at one destination in Janda Baik - Pondok Pak Habib for our shooting session before we ended the day with lunch and sharing by the pro photographers cum instructors. Overall, it was a productive outing with tips and guidelines from the pros, I have learned at least something about close-up shooting. For landscape shooting, I am still blur blur -.-" Need more practicals ... Lolz :)

Corner Talk: Went out just now with a group of friends; my former schoolmates during high-school. I met him, someone who I don't want to meet for quite sometime. She isn't here, don't know why she isn't coming. Don't ask him too. I felt strange and weird, because I actually chatted with him, laughed and joked with him, yet, I have some kind of feeling of jealousy toward him for quite some time. If not for him, I would ... Okey, never mind, that's history!! -.-"

Jump Seat? How?

Corner Talk: ManUtd got their feets back to the title's race after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Stoke City during the Boxing Day, thanks to Carlos Tevez's strike at the last hour of the game. Yeah, Tevez to the rescue. Meanwhile, these few days, I have been a good son, helping my mum around with Chinese New Year shopping here and there. Later on, we are going to search for big vase for decorative flowers. Since Dad has just bought new sofas, new LCD TV, new table, what are we short of now - a beautiful and cheerful vase of flowers in our living room! Mum cooked Laksa Sarawak for lunch today. Will show you these pictures in some other post then ... Haha :)

My last trip back from KL to KCH was an amazing journey. Although it has been countless time since I used " jump seat " to fly, this has to be the first time I take " jump seat " in the daylight. Most of time, I traveled during night; I have to compliment the night view of KCH city is magnificent, with brightly-lit lights underneath once you viewed out from the cockpit. Ooh, to let you know, " jump seat " is a term used to describe the seat in the cockpit, with the pilots! Special compliments to Mr F a d z ly, staff from F li g hts Op er at ion, Cpt and Co-Pilot of this B737-400 flight (MH 2 5 6 4).

He is Captain Vi j a y, from Seremban.
Young and friendly,
he taught me some navigational skills during the flight,
such as flight plan, FMC, instruments
and indicators reading, so on and forth.
We chatted throughout the flight.
He is real cool ...

His assistance, F/O Mohd kAbiL ...
One of procedure before flight - doing the pre-flight checks.
These include ensuring the
correct functioning and serviceability
of various aircraft systems, flaps configuration,
fuel consumption management,
V1, VR and V2 Speed,
ATC Communication settings and more.
All these are actually done accordingly in a list
that is provided to all flight crews.
Once they are completed,
yeah, we are ready to take OFF!!

Many of the switches, indicators and instruments
on the overhead panel ...
Most of these instruments are based on
various aircraft systems
such as pneumatics,
air conditioning and cabin environment control,
electrical system, lighting
and anti-icing system.
If there should be any defects
on a particularly system,
a warning of sound horn and light annuciation
will be produced to attract the pilots' attention.

Bear in mind, different aircrafts will vary
in different configuration, for example,
modern aircraft such as B777 will no longer
uses this type of instrument panels layout.
B777 will use what is termed as "Glass Cockpit",
where majority of its instruments
utilize the LCD displays and complicated computers.
" Glass Cockpit " technology has eliminated the
function of Flight Engieer in the olden days ...

Dad's Birthday

Corner Talk: My PC at Kuching was out-of-service. The only solution was to re-format it, and thanks God, I did some back-up before, otherwise, all my data and documents will pop, and finished - lost in the Black Hole. Wanna to call my friends out for "yam cha" session last night, but none of them were free. Damn ... Maybe another time? HAHA :)

Celebrated Dad's birthday this morning. The actual day of his birthday will be 15th of January. However, according to Mum, Dad's birthday falls on the 26th day of eleventh month of the Chinese Lunar calendar. Since, I was just back from KL, so, I make a plan to give him a birthday bash surprise ... Lolz :)

Corner Talk: Just reached home from KLIA, taking 1000 hours flight, MH 2564. A special thanks to Captain Vijay and F/O Mohd Kabil for granting me a jump seat in their B737-400. Not forgetting to Miss Roslinda, the leading stewardess of the flight for her warm and friendly service during on-board. Definitely, that's a MH Spirit! Thumbs Up! Gosh, by the time, I reached home, I have a severe stomachache and diarrhea; more likely to be a food poisoning. My stomach was rocking hard, as if it is twisting - I hope I'm not pregnant! Otherwise ... OoOhh Nooo .. :)
