Movie Thriller ...

What will be the experience being chased around in big city's street by an assassin? How about making a 360 degrees somersault with a car? Bending your bullets by a twist in the air? Quoting, "... Kill 1 saves 1000 ...". Hmmm, sounds familiar to you. Bingo, this is what happened in the latest blockbuster in theater, the movie entitles 'Wanted'.

A few days back, on Friday, my colleagues and I went to watch "Wanted" at G S C, The Su m m it Complex, Subang. We didn't plan earlier, it was purely a last minute decision, so by 1230noon, when all the Muslims were preparing for Friday's prayers, we drove there and bought tickets for 1240pm show. Trapped in congested traffics, we reached there later by 15minutes, but credits to Daniel's crazy driving skill, otherwise, we would miss most of the show. Bravo, Daniel!! The cinema wasn't that packed, considering it was a lunch break, so we managed to pick our best spot for the movie. Up high, crystal clear view, total enjoyment!

Here a short synopsis of the movie ...

"... Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is a neurotic accounts manager who works in an ordinary office day in and day out. He allows his boss, his girlfriend, and his best friend to walk all over him. To cope with his life, he takes anti-depressant pills. Wesley has no desire to change his humdrum life, but one day while getting more pills at the drug store, he meets a beautiful woman, Fox (Angelina Jolie), who changes his life forever. Fox was sent to protect Wesley from the man who had just killed his father. Fox tells Wesley that his father died yesterday on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Building and that he will be next target. Wesley is recruited into the "Fraternity," a secret society of assassins that his father was a member. Fox must train Wesley to bring out his special powers that he was born with in order to avenge his father's death. The Fraternity's leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman), also teaches Wesley the ways of the group, and Wesley soon becomes an assassin just like his father..."

Wanna know the ending of the story? Be sure to catch up with it in the nearest cinema in your place. Haha :) All in all, I would say the storyline of the movie is predictable (if you are a movie geek, well ... ) Ewin told me the show should contain more romance scenes. Daniel said, "God, this is damn fake! It was exactly like shooting a bullet from Shah Alam to Subang." Don't understand? I bet you will lolz if you watch the movie's ending. Lolz :) For the action parts, in my point of view, I find them quite exciting and exhilarating providing you don't need to figure out how they manage to do these crazy stunts. Obviously, they are all against the Laws of Physics!!

After the show, we went for simple lunch, since it was already quite late. Bear in mind, we still need to go back to work. Haha :)

Wow, Friday is always the shortest day in our weekdays working hours. Cool ... That's the day and time where we can chill out, R&R with our friends after all the hectic schedules over the week. By 300pm, we were back to working place. Guess, I will have to continue my task in hand before lunch break; cleaning the PSUs. Again? Yeah, again!!

It has been quite some time since I have the inspiration to pen-down a poem. My last poem that I posted had to be during the 'opening ceremony' of The Journals. I didn't know also what the mood I was in this afternoon that I have ideas to come up with this poem. Weird de? Hehe :) My mind is not at the place where I am supposed to be. It is dreading away ... 1st Kuching Company of Boys' Brigade

During my school bench, I was an active member of the Boys' Brigade. Our company is named 1st Kuching where we are based at St Thomas' Cathedral, just opposite of my school, SMK St Thomas, Kuching. I have joined BB since Secondary 2 and then discharged by the year 2006 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. I really had a lots of fun hanging around with my buddies, mostly of my age, doing crazy stuffs during camping and outing, sing-a-long for our praise and worship session, sharing our 'guy' bedtime stories middle of night in camps (haha:) Simon, you are the best storyteller), as well as flirting the girls in Girls' Brigade, and so on and forth. Being a BB is not just about drill and smart uniform, we organize various kinds of activities throughout the year that challenge both your physical and mental strength. Our badges are cool and unique with its own flavor. Each and every badges I own comes with its own story and experience. I recalled how I struggled to pass the test to qualify for the badges, especially my Drill and Camping badges. These are some of the most difficult badges to be won in the Brigade. These experience definitely colour my life during my teen's life. However, as we grow up now, most of all my buddies have parted our way. All of us have gone elsewhere to further our studies, and the only time that we can meet will be during occasion such as Chinese New Year and Christmas gathering. Hehe (",)

Few days back, when I was 'you-tubing', something struck my mind to type this in the search icon; 1st Kuching! Listen to my own heart, I typed in and the result was this:

This video was captured by my friend, KGYaw during the Kuching's City Day Festival 2007 in the Padungan Hockey Field. Our company, 1st Kuching alongside 6th Kuching BB were participating in the Band Display & Performance jointly organised by DBKU and MBKS. Actually this is the first time the 6th Kuching is joining our band. We are indeed happy and welcome them to join our contingent. The drum major is Pte. Daniel Kueh. He is very young at the age of 16 but his age doesn't limit his abilities to lead the team and shows off his talents in playing mace. See how high did he threw up the mace and yet still managed to catch it accurately? Wow ... That year (2006) I wasn't involved in this Band Display as I was already in KL doing my studies. What a miss!! Otherwise, you will be able to see me inside the video. Haha :)

With our limited musical instruments and resources, we couldn't do any complicated formations or playing those exciting formations which really show the quality of a brass band. Our band is a kind of traditional band, using bugles and bellers. Unlike other BB band, they have the funds to buy brass instruments like trumpets, trombones and flutes. Our formation were much simpler. All the formations we did were solely the ideas from our band officer, Mr Kueh Keok Seng. Well, congratulations to 1st Kuching Company for doing great job and a well done performance. Looking forward for this coming August Kuching's Day again because we have new surprise for the audiences! Tee hee ... :)

Here is a video from 1st Kuala Lumpur company Brass Band during the National Pesta Brass Band Competition 2006 in Matsushita Stadium, Shah Alam. This company is one of the largest Brigade company in Malaysia. Their brass band is considered one of the best contingent in the BB.

Modification of clamps ...

For the second week in Hangar Production Line 7, the maintenance tasks have been more challenging as I had added new experience into my collections. Line 7 provides the docking for B747, and currently we are servicing our own B747-400. Generally, a B747 is the second largest aircraft after the A380; it is also famously known as the Jumbo. Here is a sketch of a B747's dimension as compares to some other aircrafts.

I have always enjoy working with our own aircraft. First, the condition of the aircraft isn't that 'bad' when it comes into hangar for maintenance. Second, I have more opportunities to hand-on with the tasks, otherwise with the 3rd party aircrafts, we, as trainee, have very limited chances to participate. Well, I have done quite a few 'big-time' tasks. Just to name a few; removal and installation of oxygen cylinders in forward cargo compartment, installation of main battery in Main Equipment Compartment (MEC) aka Avionics Bays, carry out Bonding Test and Insulation Resistance Test for statics dischargers at vertical and horizontal stabilizer. However, the most memorable task that I had ever done was the installation of new clamps and insulation sleeve at the wire bundles on the both sides of the wings. Previously, these insulation sleeves were not installed, but Boeing has came up with an order to install these sleeves to prevent arcing thus increase the airworthiness of the aircraft. Total, there will be 60 locations for clamps and insulation sleeves on both wings. This task sounds easy than it really looks to be. Why? Haha :) Throughout the tasks, I have encountered some difficulties especially we don't have large access to the clamping wire bundles as most of them are located along the wing spar's area with all the control cables, air ducts and power feeder cables running along the length. Not only that, the working area is dark, dirty with grease and different types of lubricants, congested and stuffy. By the end of the day, my hand was cut by sharp edges in the working area, my body was aching as I need to stretch out every single parts of my body to reach out for the clamps at the limited access zones. Taking out a clamp and installing them back will cost us almost one hour. OMG!! The biggest satisfaction and huge breath of relief was when I finally successfully completing the tasks, even it was only a single clamp that I had replaced. You will get pain in your neck when you come across unsuitable clamps due to incorrect sizes. The time of waiting for the spare parts to come from the store is killing. We can't proceed with the others because we don't to mix up the components or miss out any unreplaced clamps and insulation sleeves of the other wire bundles.

Frankly speaking, sometimes I am afraid of height. I know, it sounds silly for a guy, but imagine the height of B747 is about 64 feet (19.4m). That's the highest point on the vertical stabilizer. Oh well, with reilings surround the scaffolds, by the time I look down from above, I can feel my both legs are shaking strong. My heart beats as I have seen a naked girl standing in front of me. Hehe :) Some more, when the winds blow, splashing the scaffolds, you can feel the whole structure is shaking like a minor earthquake!! As I reflected them back, I had been to most sections of the aircraft, from the nose to tail, up to down, left wing to right wing. Indeed, it was really a precious experience to work at various locations on the aircraft.

Next week, I will still remain in Line 7. This aircraft is expected to be serviceable by end of July. Hope we can make it in time. Overall, all my efforts did paid off. At least, I get to learn to accumulate at working at limited access areas under difficult working environments. Not to say I am blowing my own trumpet, but this is what a LAE will be facing when he/she establishes in future.

Anyway, I am hungry now, going out for dinner now. Time to type-off now.

Wendy's Burgers

Friday has always been a short day, particularly because of the Friday's prayer by the Muslims. Hours of hectic life at workplace was not really felt as time passed very fast on Friday. I remembered when I was in school bench, I always looked forward to Friday, because Friday = weekend break. Tomorrow is Father's Day. My colleague, Daniel wanna buy a Father's Day card for his beloved daddy. We decided to go to Memory Lane in Sunway Pyramid to get the card, and at the same time, out for lunch. We need something different, as our college has been providing us with packed lunch everyday. Come on, imagine you have been eating almost the same recipe for the past 2 years ++ ? Got to opt for variety of food, or else my taste buds will be be moaning!! =.="

Yong suggested that we went to Wendy's for burgers. For Malaysia, Wendy's franchise is quite new, this outlet has just recently opened in Sunway Pyramid about a year ago. If anyone of you have been to Carl's Juniors before, I bet you will not satisfy with Wendy's burgers. You will definitely ask for more. However, Carl's Juniors pricing is slightly a little bit higher, they are all depend on you, whether you are willing to pay for the food or not. Well, delicious food is always not cheap. Wendy's is not bad too; we had to queue for quite some time before we could order our food. It was damn congested and busy during lunch hour. Bravo to Wendy's and Carl's Juniors!!

More than just knowledge in class ...

Going second days into my OJT in hangar after semester break, my 'engine' is getting enough of warm up goes into operation now. Currently, I am attached to Hangar Production Line 7, doing Heavy Maintenance Check D on M A S aircraft, B747-400 (Mike Mike Papa). D Check is usually termed as HMV, where all parts and components, whether they are as big as engines or as tiny as a screws and nuts on aircraft will be removed, inspected, repaired and finally installed back to restore them into original serviceable condition. Estimated time of serviceable will be early next month. From my previous experience, I have never been working on a B747, this is my first, so I am unfamiliar with the aircrafts, especially its systems and operation. All experience are new and fresh from here. Haha :)

First day, that's yesterday, nothing much I had done, I was helping the LAE to do their paperworks. Normally, the LAE will carry out their tasks according to the task cards which are issued by the Production Planning and Control Department. Prior to carry out the task, a document called In spe ctio n R ep ort C a rd (I R C) wiil be raised for further maintenance progress. All records are done by computer systems, nothing much to cry for, so long you are basic computer user like me, it should be fine. For the whole day, computer ha d been my best friend. Hehe ;)

Today, I was working on Passenger Service Units (PSUs); again! The first time I did PSUs was in Line 6 before. However, for B747, its PSU is slightly different in terms of its systems and operations. In B747, the oxygen supply was originated from 9 centralized oxygen bottles which are located in the forward cargo compartment. Guess what I did? Cleaning of all the PSUs. Imagine for B747 which is capable to carry 450++ passengers, how many sets of PSUs do I have to clean? OMG!! The PSUs are quite dirty, especially the dust. The dust over the PSUs are as thick of few pieces of A4 papers. So, how thick is it? I wander where does this dust comes from since most of the time the aircraft is flying 55 000 feets above the sky. I guess the air up there is equally polluted as well, just like the air down here. Hmmm, the task of cleaning PSUs is equally important as well, because of the accumulated dust over PSUs, it may cause the PSUs to operate inefficiently. In worse scenario, the PSUs door may not deployed during emergency. Pretty critical task also ...

My target is to complete cleaning all the PSUs before 430pm so they can be sent to workshop for re-condition and bench check. However, due to some reason, out task has been delayed. One of colleague wasn't that cooperative. This fella has been on and off during working hour. Dear Journals, sometimes, I just couldn't understand why some people have no sense of responsibility at all? Shouldn't we appreciate the trust and faith that the seniors have put upon ourselves? The seniors believe that we are capable to do this task, that's why they assign us to this task, right? Then is that the way we respond to their faith? I just couldn't understand ... Can anyone tell me? Honestly, I dislike this kind of attitude, but in reality, this is what we face in life. Every human being has their own attitudes. Glad I have came to this situation earlier because in future when I have established as a LAE, this is something that I couldn't run away from. At least, I have learned how to handle it positively now. In Human Factors study, we call this situation as 'social loafing'. Well, thanks to the rest of my members, we were able to cope without this fella, we finished all PSUs cleaning on time. Yeeaah ... :) By 430pm, we headed home; weary and tiring.
People say 'what you give is what you gain'. I believe that the more effort you put in, the more luxurious is the paid-off. Work hard from the beginning, and you will see the differences in future. Every day is a learning day, correct? It is getting too lengthy now, ya, I know ... Got to type-off now. See ya ...
